Preschool Week 18

Preschool Week 18 (Feb 3rd - Feb 7th)

Last week was a short week with the flu having swept through our house hitting everyone except Nathanael and I.  Nevertheless we had a good short week and enjoyed some fun activities together.

Bible: Our story out of the Jesus Storybook Bible was the story of Naaman.  I wasn't super familiar with the story so it was a good week for me too.  It is the story of army general who has leprosy and needs to be healed (both his body and his heart).  We made this craft to go along with the story that I found at Bible Class Creations

On one side of the stick puppet has a picture of a healed Naaman and the other side has a sick Naaman.  You can pull the puppet into the muddy water and then twist the stick for him to be healed.  Hannah enjoyed this craft, Ethan sadly did not.  However, they both enjoyed playing with them afterwards as you can see in the photo.

Reading:  Books, Books, Books.
(Sonlight P3/4)

Language Arts and Handwriting:  The letter O.

Printing on the chalk board. Hannah wanted to make her O fancy.  I like the result.

O is for otter.

Finding the short o sounding words.

Coloring an Otter picture.

We played a game from ARRpre-1.  Hannah and Ethan had to figure out which picture did not belong.

Math:  Sorting and Counting

Ethan asked specifically for some sorting.
They sorted buttons by color and then by animal.

Here Ethan is counting his buttons which were sorted by animal in order to figure which group had the most buttons.

Hannah wanted her groups straight. :D

Valentines Day Counting activity.

This was from Gift of Curiousity part of their Valentine Do-a-Dot printable pack.

Art:  Valentine Art.  Stamping with toilet paper rolls.

I formed the tubes into hearts.

Then they stamped away.

Hannah and Ethan used the paper this week to make some Valentines Day Cards.
