Richmond Night Market

Sunday evening, we went out to the Richmond Night Market with Andrew's family.  Andrew and I love the night market, not only does it have an amazing assortment of foods but it has fun things to looks at and buy too.  The night market has fond memories for us.  Last year, we went to the night market the evening before Ethan was born, so I credit my labor starting to all the walking I did at the market.  Also, having lived in Korea in for 2 years going gives us warm fuzzy feelings every time we go.

Ethan's Monkey Party

We had some fabulous weather this past weekend, sunny, warm and timed just right for Ethan's first birthday party.  His actual birthday isn't for another week, but this coming weekend when we would have had his party is going to be busy.  We have the churches 30th Anniversary all weekend and a wedding on Saturday too, so there is no way we could have squeezed it in.  I'm just glad that I can say that he is almost one just a little longer.

Decorations

Ruffled streamers ( Yes I sewed them and yes I love them), you can find the tutorial here.

I'm not sure what Andrew is doing with the blue plate in the air.

The spread, thanks everyone.

Happily sitting with Mommy.
After we ate and opened presents, the kids were all busting at the seams to escape the house, so we all went outside and watched them play where it was cooler.

Much cooler.

Playing with the water and sand boxes.

They were are very wet but happy.

It was a wonderful afternoon spent with family celebrating my baby boys first year (almost).

Eating Worms

This is another post I forgot to do before we left.  We have a castle slide in the corner of our backyard from one of the families at our church that our children absolutely LOVE.  Over the winter, the sand pit filled with water and all manner of interesting things that are alive and wiggle.  Mommy wanted nothing to do with it.  I have a secret.  I hate worms.  Actually, my mom and I both hate worms.  It's a long story and if I tell you,  you will hate me, this blog, and worms, so I will spare you.  Take my work for it, or ask my mom, I'm sure she will tell you the story.  I'm still having nightmares.  hehehehehehe.  Anyway,  the little wiggly creatures were in the sad pit filled with water and Andrew thought it was a good time to empty.  So, while Hannah and Ethan played (I was inside getting things done, after I took a few pictures) Andrew emptied the water and the worms.  Hopefully they have moved far far away.

Why do you need boots if your already soaked?

Emptying the pit.

Hannah jumped in to help.

Reaching in to get a bucketful.

She "stole" Andrew's bucket because it was bigger.

Getting a closer look.

Wiggly worms.

Going to the Park

This was from before Andrew and I went to Kelowna, but I thought I would post it anyway.  We love going to Tynehead Park.  Its close enough that we can go with out planning and both the children enjoy it.  While your there you feel as if your away.  We like that feeling.

Father and Daughter.

He wanted to go really fast.

I know I will enjoy coming back here when the weather is hot.

Brings new meaning to the term double stroller.
