I was so excited when I woke up this morning to find that it was both sunny and windy. Perfect weather for kite flying and on a Monday it's even better since Andrew is home on his day off. After breakfast we bundled the kids up in warm clothes and toques because it was quite chilly outside. We drove to the park instead of walking (great decision) to save the kids from walking in the cold weather. We would not have stayed long otherwise because Ethan gets quite cranky when he's cold. I think I was more excited than the kids since they had no idea what to expect, and because I have never flown, so I was eagerly hustling them out the door.
Our kite sailing high up on our first attempt. |
Hannah flying the kite. |
She looks cold but I think she liked holding on to the handle. |
It was way easier then I thought it would be. Every time it came down a bit I gave it a sharp tug and it popped right back up. |
How graceful. |
Its hard to tell but Ethan really was holding the kite. You can see that he was enjoying it. |
Beautiful day. |
Our kite handle had these perfect little notches in them that locked the string in place. You could let the string out as you wanted to and easily manage the kite with the handle. |
After we got home, I made some Hot Chocolate to warm up. I added a TB of Nutella and it had a great hazelnut flavor. |
MMM nice and warm. |
