Week 19-Letter Q

Week 19-Letter Q

Q week was a bust, but I thought I would share anyway. I thought it might look strange from P straight to R without a mention of the letter in between.  Here is what we did (in no particular order and with little explanation hahahaha)

Language Arts:
The kids Q-tip painted the water in their picture of a Q with a duck.  It should have been a quail but instead they picked a duck because ducks quack.  Who am I to nit pick about the details.

Math:
We sorted, counted, and talked about shapes.

Then they matched shapes to the cards they had each chosen.  Hannah chose a layered card and I was a little suprised at how easy this was for her to do without help.  Ethan wanted to match shapes or colors but not both at the same time.

Art:
We made Valentine's Day hearts.

First, Hannah and Ethan colored the heart shaped coffee filters with felts.

Then they painted the hearts with water.  The water makes the ink from the felts bleed.  The kids really liked this activity. Later, we glued the heart to some lifesavers to make butterflies.  Hannah and Ethan gave these to some of their friends.

 Faith Foundations:
The focus on this lesson with on our eyes.

We did other stuff but I didn't take any pictures.
 On to week R.
